It is oh, so trendy and popular for young people to gather vintage items for their new homes, while the more seasoned shoppers find delight in discovering treasures for their longtime collections, or vice versa. Meanwhile, shopkeepers are getting ready for the arrival of quilty show visitors, who have time to “sew up” a good time in downtown Paducah — a haven for antique and consignment shoppers.

1. My friend Anne spotted the glitter of the crystal of these delightful glasses in the glow of a display case at Courtyard Antiques (319 Broadway, Paducah, 270-442-1921). Ashlea loves the color aqua and headed straight to this gorgeous quilt at Courtyard Antiques. Thanks for helping, Ashlea.

2. Why Kate, isn’t Tony showing you the cutest thing you have ever seen for spring? It’s from her booth at Comfort Zone (407 Broadway, Paducah, 270-442-0035). Melinda, booth owner at Comfort Zone, told me this nice store is “the best kept secret in town” and that the people who have booths here and the customers who shop here are like family. This birdcage is an example of what you might find. Couldn’t pull Kate away from the jewelry at Comfort Zone. Some of it was old and some reminded her of her mother, but she and the young girls loved it all. Check out all of it.
